About Valheim Map Wiki
Valheim Map Wiki is an independent, community-driven cartography and procedural seed research project created to support players venturing into the Tenth World following the momentous release of Valheim 1.0.
Our Mission & Standards
Our mission is to help Valheim players understand how worlds are structured and where to find what they need, without guesswork dressed up as fact. We separate three things clearly: facts confirmed by Iron Gate's own announcements and Steam data; community-measured figures, labelled as such; and anything we could not verify, which we either omit or mark as unconfirmed. Where Iron Gate has not published a system - world generation internals being the obvious example - we say so rather than filling the gap with invented numbers.
What You Can Do Here
Valheim Map Wiki has two tools and a growing guide library. If you arrived from a search result, these are the best places to start:
- Seed Viewer - plug in a world seed and inspect the 10,000 m world disk, distance bands, and verified 1.0 coordinates for trader camps, Maypoles, and boss altars before you commit hours to a playthrough.
- Guides index - every reference article on the site, grouped by category (Multiplayer, Building, Food, Console, Seeds). Start there if you are not sure which guide answers your question.
- Home - the 1.0 overview: world disk layout, the eight-tier biome ladder, and the boss chain from Eikthyr to Kall Fimbulbringer.
Popular Guides
New visitors most often open these:
- Dedicated Server Setup - AppID 896660, UDP 2456–2457, world-file migration, and the 1.0.12 hotfix notes.
- Best 1.0 Seeds - curated starting seeds with verified coordinates.
- 1.0 New Foods - Northern Morning Fare, Baked Poteitr, Cooked Moose Meat, and where Bloodgold comes from.
- 1.0 Build Pieces - the 67° roof family across Ashwood, Shingle, Thatch, and Wood, plus Scalewood walls and drawbridges.
- Deep North & Kall Fimbulbringer - how to reach and prepare for the final 1.0 boss.
- 1.0 Console Commands - devcommands, teleport, and the new 1.0 commands.
How to Use This Site
Every guide follows the same convention so you can trust what you read. A highlighted Quick Answer box at the top gives the 30-second take. Tables and numbered steps carry the verified facts. Anything community-measured is labelled as such, and anything Iron Gate has not published is either omitted or clearly noted rather than guessed. If a number matters to your run (food stats, piece costs, hardware sizing), confirm it live in-game - Iron Gate does not publish official stat tables for most 1.0 additions.
